NBCUniversal paid $7.65 billion to keep the Olympics on their networks until 2032. That includes broadcast, cable, Internet and mobile platforms for the next 18 years. It is the longest Olympic agreement in history.
Some see this as a way for NBC to lock in guaranteed ratings for almost two decades, but there’s also this: What will media look like in 2032? Will we still be watching TV the way we do today?
